How do I add a vehicle to the Ford app?

You can add your vehicle or vehicles to the Ford app by scanning your VIN or entering it manually. Adding a vehicle to the Ford app enables you to access features tailored to your specific vehicle model, trim, and year.

Important: You can add a maximum of 10 vehicles to your Ford app account.

Adding a Vehicle to the Ford app

Select from the drop-down options below to add your first vehicle or additional vehicles to the Ford app.  

Adding Your First Vehicle

  1. Log in to the Ford app.
  2. Choose Add Vehicle.
  3. Select Scan Code.
  4. Choose one of the following options on the pop-up message for camera access:
    • Selecting Allow will allow the Ford app to access your phone's camera. The scan window will appear to capture your VIN or scan your QR Code and route you to the Vehicle screen.
       
    • Selecting Don't Allow will prevent the Ford app from accessing your camera, and you will need to type in your VIN.
      1. Choose Enter VIN Manually. 

        Note: If you need help locating your VIN, tap the Find Your VIN link or the Find Your QR Code link.
         
      2. Enter your VIN.
      3. Select Next.

Your vehicle should appear in the garage. 

Adding Additional Vehicles 

  1. Log in to the Ford app.
  2. Choose the Vehicle Garage icon.
  3. Select Add Vehicle.
  4. Use one of the following options to capture your VIN:
    • The scan window: hover your phone over the VIN or QR code to position it inside the frame and scan. 
    • Manual entry: choose Enter VIN Manually, input your VIN, and select Next. 

      Note: If you need help locating your VIN, select the Find Your VIN link or the Find Your QR Code link.

Your vehicle should appear in the Vehicle Garage. 

If you experience any issues, visit Unable to Add My VIN for troubleshooting support. If the troubleshooting steps are unsuccessful, select Account > Help for additional assistance.
