How do I unpair my phone from my Ford vehicle?

You can unpair your device from your vehicle using SYNC®* or Ford Digital Experience®**. The steps to unpair a device differ depending on the vehicle's infotainment system.

Deleting a Paired Phone

Important: Your vehicle must be parked, running, and in an open, well-ventilated, and safe area.

Select Ford Digital Experience or your SYNC generation from the drop-down options below to learn how to unpair your phone. If you need assistance determining the generation of your SYNC system, select the first drop-down option.

Identifying Your Vehicle's SYNC Generation

Either:

  • Enter your VIN and select Search.
  • Log in with your Ford credentials, choose a vehicle from your garage, and choose Select Vehicle.

Your SYNC generation will appear under SYNC Current Version.

Ford Digital Experience

  1. Choose Settings on your vehicle's Ford Digital Experience screen.
  2. Select the Apps Drawer icon and swipe up.

  3. Choose the Vehicle icon.

  4. Select Bluetooth®.
  5. Choose the device you would like to delete.
  6. Select the Menu icon.

  7. Choose Forget. If prompted, confirm that you would like to delete the device.
     

SYNC 4A

  1. Choose the Settings or the Home icon on your vehicle's SYNC screen.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Choose Phone List.
  4. Select the phone you would like to delete.
  5. Choose <Insert Phone Name> Settings.
  6. Select Remove <Insert Phone Name>.

  1. Select Phone on your vehicle's SYNC screen. 
  2. Choose Phone List
  3. Select a phone from the list. 
  4. Choose the Delete icon. A pop-up will appear.
  5. Select Yes to remove the phone.

SYNC 3

  1. Choose Settings on your vehicle's SYNC screen. 
  2. Select Bluetooth.
  3. Choose View Devices.
  4. Select the phone you want to delete.
  5. Choose Delete.
  6. Select Yes to confirm your selection.

SYNC With MyFord Touch®

  1. Choose the Gear icon on your vehicle's SYNC screen.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Choose Phone.
  4. Select Bluetooth.
  5. Choose the phone you want to delete.
  6. Select Delete.

SYNC Gen 1.1

  1. Select Phone on your vehicle's SYNC screen.
  2. Go to Bluetooth Devices.
  3. Choose the phone you want to delete.
  4. Select Delete.

SYNC Gen 1

  1. Choose the Phone button on your SYNC system.
  2. Select Return on your vehicle's SYNC screen.
  3. Choose Bluetooth.
  4. Select the phone you want to delete.
  5. Choose Delete.
