How do I accept software updates for my Ford vehicle?

You can accept software updates for SYNC®^* or Ford Digital Experience®^** through the software update menu. The steps vary based on your infotainment system.

If either of the following icons appears on your vehicle's screen, you need to accept a software update.

	An update is available but needs to be scheduled.
	An update is available but needs your permission to proceed.

Accepting Software Updates

Select your SYNC generation or Ford Digital Experience from the drop-down options below to learn how to accept software updates.

Ford Digital Experience

You can accept the update using either of the following methods.

Option 1

Select the Update Available icon in the status bar on your vehicle's Digital Experience screen.
Choose Update to accept the update.

Option 2

Select the App Drawer icon.
Choose Software updates.
Select Update Details.
Choose Update to accept the update.

Important: If Automatic Updates and Notifications are off, your vehicle will not receive any updates. This means your vehicle will not receive any new features or critical updates via software updates.

SYNC 4A

You can accept the update using either of the following methods.

Option 1

Select the Update Available icon in the status bar on your vehicle's SYNC screen.
Choose Update to accept the update.

Option 2

Select the Settings or the Home icon on your vehicle's SYNC screen.
Choose Software Updates.
Select Update Details.
Choose Update to accept the update.
