How do I extend the remote start run time on my Ford vehicle?

You can extend your remote start run time using the Ford app* or your in-vehicle instrument cluster settings.

Using the Ford App

Important: Your initial remote start must be requested from the Ford app and not your key fob to use this function. 

  1. Log in to the Ford app.
  2. Choose the Vehicle icon. 
  3. Select Extend.

Using Your Vehicle Settings

Use the following steps for in-vehicle setting changes:

  1. Start your vehicle in an open, well-ventilated, and safe area. 
  2. Use the directional pad on your steering wheel to select Settings.
  3. Navigate to Advanced Settings.
  4. Select OK.
  5. Navigate to Vehicle.
  6. Select OK.
  7. Navigate to Remote Start.
  8. Select OK.
  9. Navigate to Duration.
  10. Choose OK.
  11. Select from the three options:
    • Five minutes
    • Ten minutes
    • Fifteen minutes

Notes:

  • The option that is highlighted will be the selected option.
  • Once the selection is made, you can back out of this menu by pressing the left arrow on the directional pad.
